چکیده

To comparatively examine clinical outcomes (i.e. patient-reported and tendon healing) after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) with without augmentation bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC). Patients aged 18-70 undergoing ARCR for a full-thickness tear of the supraspinatus were enrolled randomized in one two groups. The treatment group received BMAC harvested from iliac crest injected at RCR site completion using Arthrex Angel System. control sham incision to maintain blinding. assessed preoperatively 3 months, 6 1 year, 2 years post-operatively physical exam patient reported (SST, ASES, VR/SF-12). MRI was performed 1-year postoperatively graded accordance Sugaya classification system. Statistical analysis conducted Student T-Tests chi-squared analysis. Eighty-two patients prospectively (control: 43, BMAC: 39). There significantly more males than females (p<0.05) as well higher baseline SST scores injection (p=0.0368) (Table 1). ASES improved both groups all time points post-operatively, 12 24 months compared (p<0.05). Mean score (3.50±1.07) that (2.60±0.88, p=0.003). A strong association noted between lower Suguya post-op (?2=10.077, p=0.002, Cramer’s V = 0.498). Bone into shoulder shows quality on post-operative based score, suggesting application may positively impact healing rates.

Arthroscopic Inside-Out Repair of a Meniscus Bucket-Handle Tear Augmented With Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate

Bucket-handle tears of the meniscus comprise nearly 10% of all meniscus tears and commonly affect the young male population. Displacement of the free segment can lead to significant pain and disability, necessitating reduction and surgical treatment. General contraindications include malalignment, severe arthritis, significant comorbidities, or chronic asymptomatic tears, but otherwise repair s...

Enhanced Tendon-to-Bone Healing of Chronic Rotator Cuff Tears by Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate in a Rabbit Model

Background To evaluate the influence of bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) on tendon-to-bone healing in a rabbit rotator cuff model and to characterize the composition of growth factors in BMAC. Methods In this in vivo study, 40 rabbits were allocated into five groups: control (C), repair + saline (RS), repair + platelet-rich plasma (PRP; RP), repair + BMAC (RB) and repair + PRP + BMAC (...

Effects of bone marrow aspirate concentrate and platelet-rich plasma on patients with partial tear of the rotator cuff tendon

BACKGROUND We compared the clinical course of rotator cuff tears between rotator cuff exercise and bone marrow aspirate concentration (BMAC)-platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection to identify the therapeutic effects of BMAC-PRP on partial tear of the rotator cuff tendon. METHODS Twenty-four patients with partial tear of the rotator cuff tendon participated in this study. Twelve patients underwe...

Efficacy of Bone Marrow-Stimulating Technique in Rotator Cuff Repair

BACKGROUND This study used a chronic rotator cuff (RC) tear model to investigate the effect of microfracture as a bone marrow-stimulating (BMS) technique for RC healing. METHODS A chronic retracted RC tendon tear model was created bilaterally in the subscapularis tendons of 20 New Zealand rabbits. The tendons were repaired after 8 weeks using a single-row configuration. Tendons in the right s...

Rehabilitation following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: a prospective randomized trial of immobilization compared with early motion.

BACKGROUND The influence of rehabilitation on the outcomes after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to compare clinical results and tendon healing rates following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair utilizing two distinct rehabilitation protocols. METHODS Over a thirty-month period, 124 patients under the age of sixty-five years underwent arthroscopic...
